Saint Michael the Archangel is known to be a spiritual warrior in the battle between good and evil. God called Saint Michael to gather an army of angels after Lucifer (Satan, a fallen Seraphim angel) gathered his army of angels to rebel against God. This was the collapse of Heaven when one third of the angels fell and chose to follow Lucifer.
