St. Josephine Margaret Bakhita statue

St. Josephine Margaret Bakhita was born in Sudan, Africa. When she was a child she was kidnapped and sold into slavery in Sudan. She had many slave owners who treated her very badly. After many years of being a slave, she was sent to Italy to be a nanny for an Italian family. It was in Italy that she learned about Christ. In 1890, she was baptized and took the name Josephine. Her love for God was so strong that she decided to become a nun. When asked about her slave owners, she said that she forgave them, and that she would kiss their hands because without them she would have never found Christ. How can we show forgiveness to those who hurt us like St. Josephine Margaret Bakhita?
